About the Role
PanTher Therapeutics is looking for a collaborative, innovative, and self-motivated Scientist to conduct preclinical development and clinical product manufacturing of novel therapies to be delivered locally for the treatment of solid, inoperable tumors. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical and interpersonal skills and is excited by the challenge of supporting the design of our novel platform, shape our culture, and further develop their skills, while contributing to organizational growth. This is a unique opportunity to join a lean, fast-paced start-up and have an immediate impact on the development of cutting-edge targeted cancer therapies.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in our Austin, TX headquarters. Heavy domestic travel is required for initial training in Massachusetts at our R&D facility.
Primary Responsibilities
- Independently establish and maintain safe and reliable lab operations
- Own all aspects of the lab management, including but not limited to EH&S compliance, obtaining and maintaining permits, managing waste requirements, maintaining safety record keeping, supply management and procurement, and maintaining instrumentation
- Develop and manufacture drug delivery formulation
- Document manufacturing and testing procedures
- Follow established methods to conduct testing, such as drug delivery system characterization
- Write protocols, conduct testing, analyze results and generate reports
- Analyze and communicate research results through technical reports and presentations
- Provide general laboratory support including equipment maintenance, preparation of reagents, and ordering of lab supplies.
- Document activities in laboratory notebook and manufacturing records as required
- Support external collaborations with partners, foundations, and contract organizations
Qualifications
- MS with 4-6 years experience or PhD and 2-4 years experience in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline
- Familiarity with analytical, biochemical, mechanical and biophysical measurement and characterization techniques
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis
- Experience with the development and testing of biomaterials or polymers for drug delivery
- Experience with implantable drug eluting systems (film, matrix, patches, micro- or nanoparticles) is a plus
- Excellent and effective written and oral communication skills
- Experience working in a GLP, GMP, or similar regulated environment
